OpenAI has announced that its artificial intelligence model has won the gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad, shortly after Google claimed a similar achievement. Google solved five of the six problems, earning itself the gold medal. However, Google is challenging the validity of OpenAI's results, accusing the company of failing to follow the requirements for verifying results. OpenAI defends itself, saying it was unaware of these requirements and hired an independent team to verify the results.
