In a Christmas message, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed the desire for peace for Ukraine and hinted at the disappearance of Vladimir Putin, stating that "He should disappear" is a common thought.

Zelensky emphasized the suffering caused by Russia but reaffirmed that the unity and national heart of Ukraine cannot be destroyed. He also announced a review of the peace plan proposed by the United States, which includes a ceasefire without requiring Ukraine to withdraw from Donbas or commit to not joining NATO. Russia is now analyzing this plan, and France has stated that it supports the U.S. efforts for a lasting peace in Ukraine, emphasizing the need for security guarantees for Kiev.
