In a phone call with Pope Leo XIV, Volodimir Zelenski expressed gratitude for his support for Ukraine and discussed the urgent need for peace. Zelenski highlighted the plight of Ukrainian children deported by Russia and asked for the Vatican's help to bring them home. He also invited the Pope to make an apostolic visit to Ukraine, believing it would bring hope to the Ukrainian people. Pope Leon called on the major powers to stop the war and pleaded for lasting peace in Ukraine.
