The airline company Wizz Air announces an adjustment to its strategy in the context of rising fuel prices caused by the conflict between the USA and Iran. Although it claims to be, for now, less affected than other operators, the company has decided to reduce its exposure in tense areas and reorganize its operations.
Company representatives mentioned that, despite rising costs, their strong fuel hedging position limits their short-term exposure. Wizz Air has decided to reallocate approximately 60-70% of its operational capacity from the Middle East to European markets such as Italy, Spain, Greece, and Albania, in an attempt to manage costs and maintain operational flexibility.
Wizz Air, the largest airline in Romania, with a market share of approximately 50%, continues to monitor the evolution of the geopolitical situation and its impact on the aviation sector.
