Johann Wadephul, the head of German diplomacy, stated that security with Putin's Russia is nonexistent, emphasizing that all proposals for dialogue from Ukraine have been met with increased violence from Moscow. Wadephul asserted that a sustainable solution for Ukraine and Europe will depend on Ukrainian resilience and Russia's awareness that it cannot achieve anything through military means. During a meeting of the European Union foreign ministers in Kiev, he insisted on the importance of European unity in supporting Ukraine, emphasizing that surrender is not an option.

This meeting sends a clear message that Ukraine is part of the European family and that those responsible for war crimes will not go unpunished. Wadephul evoked the atrocities committed in Bucha, a symbol of Russian cruelty, and highlighted the strength of the Ukrainian army to reclaim territories, reaffirming the right of the Ukrainian people to a free and peaceful future.
