The Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that all wars and violence in the world began on March 24, 1999, with the attack on Serbia by NATO. Speaking at a commemorative event in Vranje, he emphasized that this date marked the end of the international order and justice.

Vučić asserted that the bombings of 1999 allowed for the violation of international law and the imposition of order by force. He highlighted the destruction of infrastructure and the loss of human lives, mentioning that the attacks resulted in the deaths of 1,002 soldiers and about 2,500 civilians, with another 10,000 people injured. Vučić concluded that March 24, 1999, is a symbolic day that changed the course of history and international relations.
