Tens of men tried on Sunday to enter the building of the United States Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan, during protests that erupted after the death of the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the escalation of tensions in the Middle East.

Images from the protest show violent clashes between police and protesters, who were throwing stones, while law enforcement responded with tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Other video recordings capture the moment when protesters broke into the consulate's courtyard, trying to smash the windows and doors to access the main building.
