Venezuela condemned the statements of American President Donald Trump, who claimed that the airspace around the country should be considered closed. The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry described these comments as an "extravagant and unjustified aggression." Although the U.S. does not have the legal authority to close the airspace of other countries, Trump's post could create uncertainties for airlines. Additionally, the U.S. has strengthened its military presence in the Caribbean, citing the fight against drug trafficking, which has generated negative reactions from the American Congress, including from some Republicans. In this context, Venezuela has banned the landing of six international airlines and has conducted military exercises on its coasts. The Venezuelan government believes that U.S. actions are aimed at ousting President Nicolás Maduro, and the Foreign Ministry has called on the international community to reject these actions.
