Russian Ambassador to Washington Alexander Darchiev has announced that negotiations to improve bilateral relations between the US and Russia will move from Istanbul to Moscow. He said the restoration of relations is complicated by the influence of the US 'deep state' and opposition in Congress. Russia also hopes to resume direct flights between the two countries, which were suspended in 2022, underlining the complexity of the negotiations needed. Relations between Moscow and the West are the most tense since the Cold War, according to diplomats.
