The US administration has strongly criticized French President Emmanuel Macron's proposal to recognize a Palestinian state, calling it a reckless decision that favors Hamas propaganda and undermines peace efforts. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stressed that the move is an affront to the victims of the October 7 attack, which led to a devastating conflict in the region that left thousands dead, mostly civilians.
