The new legislative framework would remove the requirement for individual waivers for non-visual contact flights, expanding commercial applications for drones. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy emphasized that the change would transform deliveries of goods such as packages and coffee. The regulations will include operations at altitudes of up to 120m (400ft), pre-approved take-off and landing zones, and strict safety measures for operators. Adoption of the proposal could revolutionize urban logistics in the US.
