According to the US Department of Commerce, the US economy grew at an annual rate of 3% in Q2 2025, recovering from a 0.5% decline in Q1 caused by higher imports before tariffs were imposed. Falling imports boosted the economy, although consumer spending rose modestly by 1.4%. Private investment fell 15.6%, the biggest decline since the pandemic. The Federal Reserve is expected to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged, ignoring President Trump's calls for monetary easing.
