Kazakhstan has decided to sell some 81 Soviet-era fighter jets, including MiG-31 interceptors, MiG-27 fighter-bombers, MiG-29 fighters and Su-24 bombers, to the Americans. The reason for the purchase remains a mystery, but there is speculation that they could be used in Ukraine. The sale was brokered by offshore companies.
