The decision by the University of Geneva (UNIGE) to end its partnership with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem was influenced by student protests over the situation in the Gaza Strip. The Rector's Office expressed outrage at the humanitarian crisis in the area and called for respect for human rights. Although the partnership had been inactive for several years, UNIGE chose to review the strategic relationship in the current context. The partnership, concluded in 2016, facilitated research collaboration, but was challenged by student mobilization.
