UNESCO has added 26 new World Heritage sites, including castles in Germany and rainforests in Malaysia.

The UNESCO World Heritage List has been extended by 26 sites recognized for their cultural and natural value. These include Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, the Carnac megaliths in France and a chalk cliff in Denmark. Also included were nature reserves in Mozambique and Sierra Leone, and a man-made rainforest in Malaysia. In total, UNESCO has 1,223 sites in 168 countries.
