The Ukrainian security services (SBU) on Monday arrested officials of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and carried out dozens of searches, actions that NABU considers excessive and politically motivated. The SBU has accused a NABU employee of spying for Russia, and other investigations concern trade links with Russia and road accidents. Transparency International has highlighted the pressure on anti-corruption agencies, calling for their independence to be protected.
