The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that Ukrainian forces attacked a oil refinery in Ufa and a military facility in the Penza region, which produces components for missiles.
These attacks, carried out at a significant distance from the front line, underline the intensification of the Ukrainian response campaign to Russian aggression. Zelensky stated that the Bashneft refinery was hit for the second time, and the facility in Penza is involved in the development of missiles used in attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Drone attacks have also been reported on the city of Penza, causing damage to local infrastructure, but without casualties. Analyses suggest that the targeted sites are essential for the Russian military industry, including for the production of sensors used in missiles. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that it intercepted a significant number of Ukrainian drones in various regions.
These actions reflect the escalation of the conflict and Ukraine's determination to respond to Russian aggression.
