Two Hungarian citizens were arrested in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the beginning of the week, being suspected of espionage. They were apprehended in Banovici, near Tuzla, following a report from a local citizen. Investigations revealed that the men, G.B. (73 years old) and J.G. (63 years old), were in the country to monitor a meeting of other foreign citizens involved in illegal activities.
The Ministry of Security's Foreign Affairs Service decided to revoke their visa-free status and to expel them, with the two leaving Bosnia on October 23 through the Karakaj border crossing with Serbia. Information suggests that G.B. had previous connections with the Hungarian military intelligence service and runs a private detective agency. The ministry emphasized its commitment to preventing illegal activities carried out by foreign citizens to maintain security in the country.
