Turkey wants to resume energy talks with the EU, with the potential to become a major natural gas supplier.

Turkey's ambassador to the EU, Faruk Kaymakcı, told POLITICO that his country will focus on energy cooperation as part of a plan to thaw relations with the EU. Previous talks have been stalled by tensions with Cyprus, but Turkey sees the opportunity to become a major gas supplier, especially as some EU member countries seek alternatives to Russian gas.
