This statement came in the context of discussions about controlling the Strait of Hormuz, where Trump confused Oman with Iran, stating that 'no one will control' this strategic area. He also mixed up Iran with Venezuela, referring to the American economy and the military situation in Venezuela. The White House and the Omani embassy did not provide immediate comments on the president's statements. This is not the first time Trump has confused the names of countries, having a history of mentioning Albania instead of Armenia or Iceland instead of Greenland.
