In a meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, Donald Trump suggested that he could change the name of the Department of Defense to 'Department of War', arguing that under this name, the U.S. achieved its greatest military victories. This name was used until 1947, when the institution was renamed as part of a diplomatic strategy. Trump mentioned that the change could be made next week, and the idea was previously discussed by Secretary Pete Hegseth.
