American President Donald Trump expressed disappointment towards his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, for not having read the peace proposal presented by Washington three weeks ago. In a statement at an event in Washington, Trump mentioned that he had discussed with Ukrainian leaders and Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing that the American proposal could be more favorable to Russia. Since the presentation of the plan, negotiations have taken place between American and Ukrainian officials, in an attempt to adjust the text in favor of Kyiv. Details about the modified plan were also presented to Putin, but the initial version was considered by Ukraine and Europeans to be largely favorable to Russia.
