The administration of President Donald Trump plans to detain 80,000 immigrants in industrial warehouses across the country, which will be converted into detention centers, according to a project obtained by The Washington Post. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will detain immigrants in processing centers before transferring them to these warehouses, where they will eventually be deported. Each center will have the capacity to accommodate between 5,000 and 10,000 people and will be located in states such as Virginia, Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, Georgia, and Missouri. Most of these locations are in areas run by Republicans, but some, such as Stafford and Kansas City, are run by Democrats.

The project also includes new processing centers with smaller capacities, in cities such as Chester, Salt Lake City, and Los Fresnos. ICE intends to collaborate with private detention companies to implement this plan, which promises to reduce costs and expedite the deportation process, while ensuring better conditions for detainees.
