President Donald Trump is considering a ground military operation in Iran, aimed at destroying or recovering highly enriched nuclear material, an action that could become one of the most risky in recent U.S. history.
This mission would involve numerous risks, including radioactive contamination and accelerated nuclear reactions. Trump has stated that he is not afraid of such operations, but emphasized that he would only act if the Iranian military were considerably weakened. Currently, Iran possesses approximately 440 kilograms of enriched uranium, enough to build up to ten nuclear bombs. Although Trump has exaggerated regarding the speed with which Iran could manufacture a bomb, the situation has complicated after recent bombings, and nuclear material is becoming a crucial line of defense for Tehran. In this context, Iran's proposed alternative to dilute nuclear material under international supervision could be re-evaluated by the Trump administration.
