The President of the USA, Donald Trump, stated that he had "good discussions" with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in the context of efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump mentioned that he is working on the situation between Russia and Ukraine, but did not specify when he last spoke with the two leaders. He characterized the tensions between Putin and Zelensky as 'ridiculous' and emphasized that hatred does not help in the negotiation process. Trump also referred to the pressure exerted by Washington on the parties involved to reach a peace agreement, despite the deadlocks in negotiations. On the other hand, Zelensky criticized Trump's envoys for their disrespect towards Ukraine, mentioning that visits to Moscow without going to Kiev are inadequate. The Ukrainian leader emphasized that the outcome of the discussions is more important than the location where they take place.
