China officially announces that Xi Jinping will meet with Donald Trump on Thursday, in South Korea

Donald Trump has arrived in South Korea, where he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss the trade dispute between the US and China. Trump expressed optimism that a mutually beneficial agreement will be reached, mentioning that he is willing to reduce tariffs related to fentanyl to help combat the crisis in the US.

China is expected to commit to stricter controls on the export of chemical substances in exchange for the reduction of tariffs. Trump also emphasized that the meeting will address other issues, but it is uncertain whether the situation in Taiwan will be discussed. Before the APEC summit, Trump had a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, where trade aspects were also discussed. The American president promised that a trade agreement with South Korea will be finalized soon, despite some persistent difficulties.
