American President Donald Trump stated that it is "very sad to see" that the relationship with Great Britain is no longer as strong, following British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer's decision to postpone military support for attacks against Iran.
Trump emphasized that other countries, such as France, have provided more consistent support, stating that he would not have expected the relationship, which he considers "the strongest of all," to change so much. Although he acknowledged that the U.S. does not depend on Great Britain for actions in the Middle East, he criticized the lack of support from the United Kingdom. In response, Starmer stated that his decision was based on the national interest of Great Britain, highlighting the importance of alignment with international partners and a clear legal basis in such situations.
