American President Donald Trump renewed his criticisms of Great Britain, accusing it of hesitating to support the U.S. attacks on Iran.

During a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Trump criticized British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, stating that he does not compare to Winston Churchill. Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with London's refusal to allow the use of the British base in Diego Garcia during the initial attacks on Iran, highlighting the inconveniences created by this decision.

He also urged Great Britain to abandon the agreement to cede the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, which includes a joint military base.

Starmer stated that Great Britain will not participate in attacks on Iran without a well-thought-out plan, but allowed the use of British bases for limited attacks.

In response to Trump's criticisms, Downing Street avoided responding officially, reiterating that Starmer acts in the national interest of Great Britain, considering public opinion, which is largely against U.S. military actions.
