Iran stated that the United States attacked a nuclear facility under construction in Darkhovin, in Khuzestan province.

The United States carried out an attack on an Iranian nuclear power plant under construction, located in Darkhovin, in Khuzestan province, according to the state news agency IRNA, cited by dpa.

The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) condemned this attack, which involved multiple projectiles.

The plant, construction of which began at the end of 2022, is a pressurized water reactor intended to produce 300 MW of electricity. The project was scheduled to be completed in 2030.

Currently, the only operational nuclear power plant in Iran is the one in Bushehr, located at the Persian Gulf.
