On Friday, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced airstrikes against Iran, targeting missile and drone depots, as well as radar stations along the coast. These actions were a response to the Iranian attack on the commercial vessel M/V Ever Lovely in the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards responded on Saturday, threatening retaliation against American positions in the Persian Gulf. The U.S. Vice President emphasized that violence will be met with violence, while an Iranian diplomat stated that ships must coordinate with Iranian authorities. The American attacks, carried out by F-35 and F-16 aircraft, ended after 90 minutes, hitting four Iranian targets. Tehran promised a "swift and decisive" response to these attacks, and Iranian media reported on a projectile that struck an area near the strait. These events jeopardize the recently agreed peace deal between the U.S. and Iran.
