The Spanish government has announced measures to accelerate the return of migrants from Ceuta. The priority is to respect the law and human rights.

The Minister of Territorial Policy, Angel Victor Torres, presented on Tuesday measures to accelerate the return of migrants from Ceuta, following the massive influx of people from Morocco at the end of July. Torres emphasized that the priority is to repatriate as many people as possible, including minors, while respecting the law and human rights.

Over 70,000 migrants entered Ceuta on the 30th and 31st of July, and estimates indicate that between 3,500 and 7,000 migrants remain in the enclave. The government has approved a unified command to coordinate efforts to manage the situation, including the creation of reception centers with 1,800 places.

The migration crisis has generated intense debates between the left-wing government and the right-wing opposition, which is calling for the expulsion of all migrants, including minors. Torres highlighted the importance of respecting order and international laws in managing this situation.
