A Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX launched the Romanian satellite EMISAR into low Earth orbit on Monday, as part of the Transporter 16 mission. EMISAR was developed through a collaboration between the private sector, state institutions, and universities, aiming to demonstrate the secure transmission of digital messages between ground stations.

The launch took place on February 14, from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The satellite will collect data while passing over reception stations, store it, and retransmit it later. The project was coordinated by the Institute of Space Sciences – INFLPR branch, in partnership with Romanian InSpace Engineering (RISE), RARTEL S.A., and the Maritime University of Constanța. EMISAR demonstrates Romania's ability to develop quick and efficient solutions for space missions.
