The Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, was forced to make an emergency landing in Ankara, Turkey, during the flight to Yerevan, Armenia, due to an unspecified technical problem. The official Airbus A310 aircraft took off on Sunday from the Torrejón de Ardoz airbase in Madrid, carrying the Prime Minister and his delegation. Spanish government sources confirmed that the incident was handled according to safety protocol, without reporting any injuries. Sánchez was heading to the eighth meeting of the European Political Community, which aims at cooperation and stability in Europe. After landing in Ankara, the Spanish delegation spent the night in Turkey, and the journey to Yerevan was set to resume on Monday morning.
