The President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, suggested organizing discussions between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in November, considering the increasing importance of nuclear weapons. Stubb emphasized the current dangers and mentioned that Finland is now protected by NATO, which includes nuclear weapons from the USA, France, and the United Kingdom. He highlighted that, after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Finland abandoned its historic neutrality and became a NATO member in April 2023. Additionally, Stubb stated that support for Ukraine is essential for the modern understanding of war. The resumption of American nuclear tests was also mentioned, but officials clarified that these are system tests, not actual detonations.
