The U.S. Department of Defense continues to consider Anthropic a risk to the supply chain, while its artificial intelligence model, Mythos, is being evaluated separately. Emil Michael, the Pentagon's chief technology officer, emphasized that Mythos has advanced capabilities for identifying and remedying cybersecurity vulnerabilities, which necessitates strengthening the security of government networks. Despite these positive assessments, the status of 'security risk' remains in effect for Anthropic, which obliges military contractors not to use the Claude models in military projects. The company has challenged this decision in court. Meanwhile, the Pentagon has signed agreements with major tech companies, such as OpenAI and Google, for the implementation of artificial intelligence solutions in its classified networks. The situation is complicated by the use of the Mythos model by certain agencies, including the NSA, which creates ambiguities between official prohibitions and operational needs. Donald Trump has suggested the possibility of a future agreement with Anthropic, acknowledging its strategic potential.
