The Louvre Museum in Paris partially reopened on Wednesday, after being closed on Monday due to a strike by employees, who unanimously voted to maintain the strike notice. They are protesting against issues related to insufficient staff, the deterioration of the building, and the increase in fees for non-European visitors. The Minister of Culture proposed solutions to calm the discontent, but these were rejected by the employees.

Although the museum was closed on Tuesday, its weekly closing day, it allowed visitor access on Wednesday, although some halls remain closed. The social conflict has been exacerbated by a recent robbery, and the museum's president, Laurence des Cars, will appear before senators to discuss security deficiencies. Criticism of the museum's security management has increased, especially after delays were discovered in the implementation of the security plan.
