The new strategy has three main objectives, including combating hate both online and offline, by creating a hub for collecting information about illegal hate. Additionally, an action plan against cyberbullying will be implemented, taking into account the protection of LGBTIQ+ youth. The Commission emphasizes that discrimination based on sexual orientation costs the EU up to 89 million euros annually. Funding for civil society will continue until 2027, and member states are invited to develop national strategies for equality.
