After the entry into force of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, thousands of displaced Palestinians have begun to return to Gaza, crossing the areas affected by the conflict. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed hope for a "day of national joy" with the return of the hostages. The agreement, negotiated in Egypt, provides for the gradual withdrawal of Israel from Gaza and the release of hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The Rafah border crossing will be reopened on Tuesday, thus facilitating the return of those affected by the conflict.
