On Wednesday, the airport in Berlin suspended departures and arrivals for approximately 30 minutes as a security measure after a drone was reported near a hangar used by the Bundeswehr, the German army.
The airport's spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that the police were called to investigate, but the flying object was not observed again. The restrictions were lifted quickly, and air traffic returned to normal. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz accused Russia of involvement in these incidents, which have also occurred in other parts of Europe, particularly targeting airports and sensitive facilities. Previously, in October, the airport in Munich was temporarily closed due to drones, leaving thousands of passengers stranded.
