The Italian Foreign Minister cancels the visit to the USA on June 21-22, following Donald Trump's statements regarding Giorgia Meloni.

Antonio Tajani, the Italian Foreign Minister, announced on Friday on platform X that he is also canceling the scheduled visit to the United States on June 21 and 22, in response to "serious and offensive statements" made by American President Donald Trump about Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Trump stated in a phone interview with the Italian channel La7 that Meloni "begged" him to pose for a photo with him at the G7 summit in France. Although the transcript of the interview was published, La7 did not air the original audio recording.

In response, Giorgia Meloni posted a video on X on Friday in which she expresses her "astonishment" at Trump's "pure inventions."
