Swiss Defense Minister Martin Pfister has announced that Switzerland could reduce the number of F-35 jets ordered if the final price exceeds the set budget of 6 billion francs. The US has demanded additional costs of between 650 million and 1.3 billion dollars, sparking a controversy in Switzerland. Despite those costs, Pfister stresses that the F-35 remains a necessary choice for national defense, having been integrated into the defense systems of several European countries. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2027.
