According to a study conducted by the German institute IW, the United States relies more on imports from the European Union than previously thought, with the European bloc surpassing China both in value and in the number of categories of imported products. This dependence has significantly increased in the last 15 years, with 3,100 categories of products coming from the EU in 2022. Even though the US has imposed tariffs of 15%, EU products remain essential, giving Europeans a strong position in trade negotiations.
