The Berlin airport completely suspends operations between 05:00 and 23:59, after the Verdi union called a strike involving approximately 2,000 employees.

All 445 flights scheduled for Wednesday have been canceled, affecting a total of 57,000 passengers, who are advised to contact airlines for rescheduling. The strike includes employees from essential sectors, such as fire services and traffic management, making it impossible for the airport to operate. The labor conflict is generated by salary negotiations, with the union demanding a 6% increase, while the employer's offer is only 1-1.5% per year. The airport director criticized the strike, deeming it disproportionate, and emphasized the importance of upcoming negotiations scheduled for March 25.
