During a visit to wildfire-hit Galicia, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez proposed a 'national pact for climate emergency' that goes beyond political debates. The pact aims to involve all administrations, parliamentary groups, civil society and businesses in efforts to adapt to climate change. Sanchez emphasized the need for a long-term strategy to better respond to fires, noting that more than 157,000 hectares have burned in Spain this year due to extreme heat exacerbated by climate change.
