On Wednesday, the Spanish Parliament adopted a law instituting an embargo on arms deliveries to Israel, in response to the situation in Gaza, which Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez describes as 'genocide'. The decree, announced earlier in September, was approved with 178 votes in favor and 169 against, thus strengthening the critical position of the Spanish government regarding Israel's actions. Sánchez has repeatedly called for a ceasefire and condemned human rights violations in the Palestinian territories.
