The Council of Ministers of Somalia has decided to annul all agreements made with the United Arab Emirates, including those related to security and defense cooperation. This decision was made based on credible reports indicating hostile actions that undermine the sovereignty and independence of the country. Among the agreements targeted are those related to the ports of Berbera, Bosaso, and Kismayo, which have complex ties with the regional administrations of Puntland and Jubaland.
Additionally, the UAE is suspected of being involved in the recognition of Somaliland by Israel. In the context of tensions in Yemen, Somalia has opened an investigation to verify the unauthorized use of its airspace. Relations between the UAE and Saudi Arabia have deteriorated, despite their former alliance against the Houthi rebels.
