The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, may intervene to stop a contract between Scotland Yard and Palantir, an American technology company, which is set to provide artificial intelligence solutions for processing operational information.

Khan is concerned about the use of public money to support a firm associated with controversies related to human rights. Recently, Palantir has been involved in scandals related to the use of its technology in immigration repression campaigns and military actions. The London Mayor's Office has stated that any purchase over £500,000 requires its approval. Over 330,000 people have signed petitions to block collaboration with Palantir, and Khan has emphasized that the evaluation of proposals will be done carefully, considering personal data protection.

Palantir has rejected the criticisms and highlighted the efficiency of its technology, but concerns persist among politicians and activists.
