Michael O'Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, has proposed banning alcohol sales at airports, especially in the morning, to reduce scandals caused by drunk passengers, which lead to flight diversions.
According to his statements, the airline is facing an increasing number of incidents, with nearly daily flight diversions due to disruptive passenger behavior. O'Leary emphasized that a decade ago, on average, only one flight was diverted per week, and now the situation has become a constant challenge for airlines. He criticized airport bars that serve alcohol in the early hours, questioning why anyone would consume beer at five or six in the morning. Ryanair has initiated legal actions against passengers who have disrupted flights, in an attempt to recover the financial losses caused by these incidents.
