The Russian army has claimed control of two towns in Donetsk and Lugansk regions, continuing to advance despite the Ukrainian offensive. One of the towns, Mikolaivka, is just 15 km from Pokrovsk, an important logistical hub. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukrainian troops have suffered significant casualties, with up to 2,080 casualties reported in the last day alone.
