The Russian government has approved a new transportation development strategy, which includes the reintroduction of airships as a solution for transportation issues in remote and poorly connected regions. This strategy, which will be implemented until 2035, also aims at the development of other advanced technologies, such as vertical takeoff aircraft and supersonic planes. Airships are considered promising technologies for the transport of goods and passengers in hard-to-reach areas. Although their use was abandoned in the past, new models are being developed globally, including in the USA and Europe. Russia's plan also includes supersonic planes and high-speed trains, but the aviation sector is facing difficulties due to Western sanctions. An action plan for the implementation of these solutions will be approved by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
